Piano Labs

Gilmore Piano Labs are taught year round in multiple locations by professional piano teachers and music therapists. Elementary age students as well as adults enjoy small group classes, and music therapy programs assist young adults in developing life and social skills.

Piano Labs in Elementary Schools: Currently offered in three elementary schools, these labs are open to students grade 2 through 5 enrolled in the schools.

Piano Labs at the Maple Street YMCA: Group classes offered to the public at various skill levels and age groups.

Piano Labs at the Kalamazoo County Juvenile Home: Presented by a music therapist in collaboration with classroom teachers, these labs use music to help at-risk youth develop their creativity and confidence-building skills.

Piano Labs at the Kalamazoo RESA Young Adult Program: Working in tandem with the principals of the Young Adult Program, these labs reinforce adult living skills through classroom songwriting, small group piano lessons, and drum circle exercises.
