Kalamazoo County Juvenile Home

The Intensive Learning Center (ILC) at the Kalamazoo County Juvenile Home (KCJH) is a behavior-based program which provides focused, individualized learning to at-risk students. The KCJH Gilmore Piano Lab within the ILC is led by a highly skilled and innovative music therapist who collaborates with classroom teachers to support instruction in core academic subjects, using music as a tool for increased participation and information retention. Piano Lab students learn to compose, perform, record, and analyze their own works, helping to build confidence and ultimately support their core academics.
