Presented in collaboration with Fontana Chamber Arts and St. Cecilia Music Center

Equally at home at the keyboard or on the podium, Jeffrey Kahane has established an international reputation as a truly versatile artist, recognized by audiences around the world for his mastery of a diverse repertoire ranging from Bach, Mozart, and Beethoven to Gershwin, Golijov, and John Adams. In this concert Kahane performs solo works, including a piece written by his son, the up-and-coming young composer Gabriel Kahane. With members of the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center (including original Fontana ensemble member David Shifrin), Kahane concludes the program with Mozart’s Quintet in E flat Major for Piano and Winds, about which Mozart said in a letter to his father, “I myself consider it to be the best thing I have written in my life.”
