2012 Gilmore Young Artist George Li returns to Kalamazoo following a stunning debut at the Gilmore Keyboard Festival this spring. The 17-year-old winner of New York’s Young Concert Artists Award performed the Schumann Concerto with the Grand Rapids Symphony and several solo recitals during the Festival, all to rave reviews. Following a recital earlier this year, International Piano described Li as, “A major talent with all the ingredients for future greatness.”

The young pianist continues his studies at the New England Conservatory with Wha Kyung Byun, and he is a student at the Walnut Hill School in Massachusetts. This season he will perform with several American orchestras and in recital in Sweden, Canada, and throughout the US.
