Located in the “old” Kalamazoo Central High School just south of downtown, Chenery Auditorium seats just over 1,500 patrons, making it the Festival’s largest venue. Complimentary coffee and cookies served at intermission.
Parking: Parking is available in the lot behind Chenery Auditorium, on all adjoining streets, and at Bronson Advanced Radiology, two blocks away at 534 Park St.
Barrier-Free Access: Persons requiring barrier-free access can be dropped off in front of Chenery Auditorium at the main entrance on S. Westnedge Ave., or at the Dutton St. entrance. An elevator is available to the balcony and gallery levels. There are four designated handicapped parking spaces in front of the building, four on the side of the building near the Dutton St. entrance, and 17 spaces in the first row in the parking lot along Pearl St.
Security Screening
All patrons are required to pass through a security screening. These will be present at both entrances to Chenery Auditorium. There is no need to remove items from your pockets or jackets. Any object that can be used to inflict harm or injury, including firearms, knives, blunt objects, and other dangerous devices or tools, is prohibited.
Bag Policy
Chenery has adopted a limited bag size policy and does not permit bags larger than 12″ x 9″ x 3″.
Bags in the medical/essential category are permitted after a proper inspection.
Due to limited storage space and safety concerns, strollers are not allowed in the auditorium.
