Charlie Albright

2010 Gilmore Young Artist and 2009 Young Concert Artist Charlie Albright was recently named the Harvard University Leverett Artist-in-Residence for 2012, a position previously held by cellist Yo-Yo Ma in 1979. Albright was also named the recipient of Harvard’s 2011 Louis Sudler Prize in the Arts.

Albright completed his associate of science degree at Centralia College while still in high school. He is the first classical pianist to be admitted to the Harvard/New England Conservatory’s B.A./M.M. 5-Year Joint Program, where Albright majored in economics at Harvard as a premedical student and will receive his masters of music in piano performance in 2012.

He continues his studies with Wha-Kyung Byun, and previously studied with Nancy Adsit for 11 years. Albright maintains an active international performing career, having competed or performed throughout the United States as well as in France, Australia, Norway and Portugal.
