Winner of the 2015 American Pianists Jazz Award, New Orleans native Sullivan Fortner is counted among the top jazz pianists of his generation. Fortner began playing the piano at the age of seven and was hailed as a virtuoso before he was out of high school. He earned his Bachelor of Music from Oberlin Conservatory and his Master of Music in Jazz Performance from the Manhattan School of Music.

Lauded today as one of the top jazz pianists of his generation, Fortner performs at The Gilmore with his ensemble, The Sullivan Fortner Trio. Expect to hear new and engaging harmonic and rhythmic ideas and an approach to performance defined by clarity and curiosity.
