Grant Rupp Trio: Gilmore After Dark

When the day’s last Festival concert ends, Gilmore After Dark begins–Kalamazoo invites you to step out and make an evening of it! Enjoy relaxed musical events featuring Gilmore Festival Fellows, WMU Jazz Faculty, graduates, and students, as well as treasured local talents who are a part of our vibrant music scene here in Kalamazoo, throughout the great state of Michigan, and beyond.

Grant Rupp is a 4th year Jazz Piano Performance student at Western Michigan University. Originally from Marshall Michigan, his musical journey truly began here in Kalamazoo. In his time at WMU he has performed with The University Jazz Orchestra, Gold Company, and the WMU Advanced Jazz Ensemble. Grant has played piano for local artists, exploring pop, rock, rap, hip-hop, and R&B. He has also worked as a drumline instructor for his hometown high school, music director for musical theater productions, and is the acting president of WMU’s branch of United Sound, a national organization that helps students from WMU Disability Services to learn and play instruments.
