Featured Video: Jeffrey Kahane

April 1, 2016

Jeffrey Kahane, a concert pianist and conductor from Los Angeles, has played the piano for over half a century. Over the years, he has won the Van Cliburn International Piano Competition, the Arthur Rubinstein Piano Competition, an Avery Fisher Career Grant and an honorary degree from Sonoma State University.

He began conducting in the late ’80s and has continued ever since, holding music director positions with the Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra and the Colorado Symphony. But one would be mistaken to think his piano performance career would take a back seat to his conducting: Kahane excels at conducting from the piano.

Don’t miss his performance with the Gilmore Festival Chamber Orchestra, composed of members from both the Kalamazoo Symphony Orchestra and the Grand Rapids Symphony!
