Logan Evan Thomas
Logan Evan Thomas, a Kalamazoo native now residing in New York City, is a dynamic and innovative pianist/producer. A graduate from Western Michigan University and classically trained for 19 years, Thomas has studied and worked with world-renowned musicians including Stefon Harris, Danilo Perez, Mulgrew Miller, Laurence Hobgood, Randy Brecker and many more.
In 2010, Thomas won first place at the Nottingham International Jazz Piano Competition and second place at the Montreux International Jazz Piano Competition. A year earlier, he was one of four pianists nationwide chosen to participate in Fred Hersch’s “Solo Duo Trio” workshop and present a concert in Carnegie Hall.
He is the founding member of Manner Effect, which is comprised of some of the finest musicians in the New York City jazz scene. He also frequently travels and performs around the world with Grammy®-nominated Native American pop/R&B singer Jana Mashonee.
Thomas is on faculty at the Larchmont Music Academy in New York teaching students ages four to sixteen. He is also the executive vice president of Jalreign Corp. (a multimedia company), operates a music recording studio and performance venue, and is creating the L.E.T. Music Academy in Brooklyn as a way of giving back to the community.
