Christian Sands

Christian Sands is a rising star in the world of jazz, utilizing his skills as a composer, arranger and producer.
Born in 1989, Sands began playing the piano at age three and was composing by five. His swift rise in the jazz world includes appearances at the 2006 and 2007 Grammy® Awards, including a highly publicized duet with legendary pianist, the late Oscar Peterson.

Sands has performed with jazz luminaries such as Christian McBride (as he did last season in an appearance with Fontana Chamber Arts), Candido, Bobby Sanabria, Lou Donaldson, Kirk Whalum, Rufus Reid, and Wycliffe Gordon to name a few. He has appeared at jazz venues and festivals around the world including Dizzy’s Club Coca Cola, the Kennedy Center, Shanghai Jazz Club, IAJE Convention, Vail Jazz Club and the New Orleans Jazz Festival.

Sands now studies at the Manhattan School of Music and is pursuing a bachelor’s degree in music performance and composition.
