Pianist-keyboardist Luis Resto spent years as one of Detroit’s best-kept secrets, lending his supple fingers to albums from artists as diverse as Anita Baker, Patti Smith and Iggy Pop to Jay-Z, B.o.B. and 50 Cent. His real breakout came as one of Eminem’s go-to studio collaborators. Known as one of the Motor City’s most creative and accomplished songwriters, Resto earned an Oscar for his co-writing efforts with Eminem on “Lose Yourself” from the film, 8 Mile. Resto appears in a trio format performing on piano, accordion, melodica and synthesizer.
