Kuok-Wai Lio (Macau/U.S.)

A native of Macau, Kuok-Wai Lio is a recent graduate of the Curtis institute of Music where his principal teachers included Gabriel Kwok and Gary Graffman. The 24-year-old began his piano studies at the age of five and was awarded a scholarship to study at the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts. Most recently, Lio has been working with András Schiff at international master classes and festivals across Europe. He has received prizes in international competitions including Fulbright, Gina Bachauer, Seiler, Steinway, Ettlingen, and Chopin (Tokyo).

Recent performances include solo recitals at the Ravinia Festival, Vancouver Recital Series, and a chamber music concert at the Salzburg Festival.
