British pianist Ivana Gavrić was awarded Newcomer of the Year for 2011 by BBC Music Magazine following her Wigmore Hall début and highly acclaimed first recording In the Mists in 2010. Born into a musical family in Sarajevo, Gavrić was initially taught by her mother. Following her move to the UK, Gavrić studied at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama where she was awarded the Keyboard Prize and continued at Cambridge University and the Royal College of Music where she won a prestigious Frankopan Fund Scholarship (Sainsbury’s Family Charitable Trusts).
Performances across the UK have included the Royal Albert Hall and Royal Festival Hall. She has given recitals throughout Europe, in Russia and Japan and performed concertos with orchestras in London, Cambridge, and Barcelona. 2013 marks Gavrić’s US debut in Washington DC and Kalamazoo.
