Staff Picks: Jacquelyn Ross
Weeks away from the opening night of the Festival, The Gilmore staff is hard at work ensuring that this year’s events will exceed all expectations. Jacquelyn Ross, The Gilmore’s Operations Coordinator, works with artists and their management to organize travel plans, rehearsal schedules, contracts, and many important Festival details.
Here’s Jacquelyn’s recommendation for those interested in the 2016 Gilmore Keyboard Festival!
“As a jazz musician, my classical background has been awakened since working for the Festival. I respect and appreciate the differences between the two art forms and look forward to any opportunity to learn. The Debussy ‘mini-series’ celebrates classical and jazz piano. All three performers – Lori Sims, Jeremy Siskind and Andrew Rathbun – are also professors at Western Michigan University, which is a prime example of The Gilmore reaching back into the Kalamazoo community to embrace musical collaboration.”
