2006 Gilmore Young Artist Natasha Paremski was born in Moscow and began her piano studies at the age of four. She immigrated with her family to the US in 1995 and became a US citizen in 2001.
Paremski’s growing repertoire reflects a strong focus on new music. She has performed John Corigliano’s Piano Concerto with the Colorado Symphony (at Corigliano’s suggestion), several pieces by Fred Hersch and Rubinstein’s Fourth Piano Concerto.
Paremski, who is twenty-four, also continues to extend her performance activity and range beyond the traditional concert hall. She was the featured pianist in choreographer Benjamin Millepied’s Danse Concertantes. She was featured in a major two-part film for BBC Television on the life and work of Tchaikovsky. And, two years ago she participated in the filming of Twin Spirits, a project starring Sting and Trudie Styler that explores the music and writing of Robert and Clara Schumann.
